Roswell establishes a strategic Bitcoin reserve fund

A report from April 30 indicates that the city of Roswell, New Mexico, has received its first Bitcoin donation totaling 3,050,323 satoshis (approximately 0.0305 BTC), equivalent to about 2,906 USD.

This contribution is used as "seed capital" to establish the "Roswell Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Fund" under the management of the city government. The fund will be held for at least ten years to accumulate donations and grants in cryptocurrency.

When the fund reaches the threshold of 1 million USD, it will become a "Bitcoin emergency fund", in which 21% can be used every five years, if approved by the city council.

Priority use is the water bill subsidy for the elderly and emergency support for the community. The donation was officially received on April 29, with the signature of Ms. Juliana Halvorson, the acting mayor of Roswell, and Guy Malone, a cryptocurrency expert.

The donation address has been made public to ensure transparency and promote trust from the community.
